Why Taekwondo?
The practice of martial arts is beneficial in many ways. Not only is it a great way to condition your body physically, but it can help children and adults develop character and discipline. At Kreger Taekwondo, I train students in World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) Olympic style Taekwondo. The five tenents of Taekwondo are strongly promoted with my students. I focus on all aspects of the art in an attempt to help students become well-rounded, strong individuals...both physically and mentally. In a world that has 24 hour news feed and instant gratification, Taekwondo teaches us to slow down. It is a "slow" sport. We learn to use patience and perseverance. The reward is not in “getting it right now”, it is about the journey!
~Master Kreger
The Tenets of Taekwondo
Courtesy (Ye-Ui) - Respect for everyone, including your enemies.
Integrity (Yom-Chi) - Honesty with others and yourself.
Self Control (Guk-Gi) - Controlling your mind, body and emotions.
Perseverance (In-Nae) - The attitude to never give up, no matter how discouraged you may become.
Indomitable Spirit (Baek-bool-gool) - The words unconquerable, unquenchable, and unbreakable help define the meaning of Indomitable Spirit.
